– Mowing & weed trimming village parks, ball fields, and all other lawns within the village
– Light lawn repair, property improvement
– Maintenance on light equipment
– Assisting in road patching (cold mix)
– Power washing equipment
Possible 20 plus hours a week, weather pending. $12.00/hr.

The Village of Poplar Board Members would like to ask for your help to beautify Main Street for the upcoming Centennial (1917-2017) Celebration on Saturday, August 5 and Sunday, August 6.
Removal of debris and any unused items to include vehicles, and mowing of lawn areas, plus any additions to improve the overall appearance would be appreciated. There is a team of volunteers that have offered to help with these tasks. They would especially like to help to plant flowers or rejuvenate any current garden areas. Poplar’s Centennial will be celebrated in conjunction with Poplar Fun Days on August 5 and 6.
Some of the events planned are: A parade through downtown Poplar, Music throughout the day by various musical talents, Kids Fire Hose Competition, Annual Corn-Hole (Beanbag) Competition, Kids Relay Races, Kids Carnival Games, Vendors, Food and beverages provided by the Poplar Fire Department Auxiliary, Street Dance: Crescent Moon, Poplar Princess Contest, and Fireworks at Dusk. There was a sanitary overflow at our Lift Station #4 at 4802 S County Road P. This was due to a power outage. Dahlberg Light & Power fixed the transformer.

The Village of Poplar, WI, Douglas County Board of Review will meet on the 9th day of May, 2017 at 6:45 p.m. at the Village of Poplar Hall for the purpose of calling the Board of Review into session during the thirty day period beginning on the 2nd Monday of May, pursuant to Sec. 70.47 (1) of Wis. Statutes. Due to the fact the assessment roll is not completed at this time, it is anticipated that the Board of Review will be adjourned until the 13th day of June, 2017 and 5:00 p.m. Notice is hereby given this 21st day of April, 2017.

Spring Cleanup Day is Saturday, May 13 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Things that will be accepted: All regular household waste, garage sale items that did not sell, garage clean out items, toys, expired pantry items.
Bulky items such as couches, furniture, box springs, mattresses, major appliances (no refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, anything with freon). There will be a $5.00 charge per each large item. (box springs, mattresses, furniture, couches, major appliances that are accepted.
Batteries, ballasts, tires (car to pick up size) – $3.00 per tire.
We will not be accepting any electronics(televisions, radios, cell phones, computers, computer accessories, etc.
Household or industrial waste, hazardous waste, asbestos, compost, ashes, or hot materials.
Machinery, auto parts, waste oil.
YOU MUST BE A RESIDENT OF THE VILLAGE OF POPLAR. ID IS REQUIRED.
There will be a hazardous waste collection day on June 10th from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.
The Village of Poplar is now accepting bids to service our area for the collection of solid waste and recycling. Submit bids to : Village of Poplar, P.O.
