Village taking bids to paint Village Hall

The Village of Poplar is taking bids to paint the Poplar Village Hall and Garage. The building is concrete block and approximately 3000 square feet less windows and doors. The wood trim, soffit, and fascia need to be scraped, primed, and painted a separate color. The bid is on labor and materials. The Village has 25 gallons of white concrete paint in storage.

All bids will be opened, discussed, and voted on at the August 11th Board Meeting.

Notice: The Board of Review for the Village of Poplar, Douglas County will be held Tuesday, June 9 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Space is limited due to social distancing.

Village of Poplar Spring Clean Up

The Village of Poplar Spring Clean Up will be held Saturday, May 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Things that will be accepted: All regular household cleanout items, sale items that did not sell, garage and shed cleanout items, toys, etc. NO FOOD WASTE!

All furniture items are $5 a piece.
Major appliances (stoves, dishwashers, microwaves, washers, dryers, hot water heaters, furnaces,) $10 a piece.
Box springs $15 a piece.
Mattresses $25 a piece.
NO refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, anything with Freon) will be accepted!!
Car to pickup tires are $10 a piece.
Car, lawnmower, tractor batteries are free.
Scrap iron is free.
We will not be accepting any electronics (T.V’s, radios, cell phones, computers, Computer accessories, etc.)
Household or industrial waste, hazardous waste, asbestos, compost, ashes, or hot materials will be not be accepted.
No propane tanks of any kind will be accepted.
Machinery, auto parts, and waste oil will not be accepted.

MUST BE RESIDENTS OF THE VILLAGE OF POPLAR. PLEASE BRING HELP TO UNLOAD YOUR VEHICLE, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR UNLOADING YOUR OWN ITEMS.

Notice Village of Poplar Residents

The Board of Canvassers for the Village of Poplar will meet on Monday, April 13, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at the Poplar Village Hall, 4932 S Village Road, Poplar, Wisconsin, to process the election results from the April 07, 2020 Spring Election which will include outstanding absentee ballots which were postmarked by Tuesday, April 7, 2020 and received by 4 PM on Monday, April 13, 2020. There is 1 outstanding absentee ballot from this election.

Public Testing

The Public Testing for the April 7, 2020 election will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Village Hall, 4932 S Village Road. The posting for this was posted at the Village Hall, Poplar Hardware, and the Post Office on Friday, March 27, 2020
